HOPE - Day 4
Weekly Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the hope that Jesus' birth brings to our lives. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, help us to anchor our hope in Him. May His light shine brightly in our lives, dispelling darkness and uncertainty. In His name, we pray. Amen.
Thursday Dec 5: Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Reflection: Have you ever noticed how hope can feel fleeting? The author of Hebrews reminds us that we must “hold tightly” to our hope in Jesus. We don’t put our hope in circumstances or abilities, we cling to Jesus and His promises. According to Hebrews, one of the best ways to hold tightly is to have others walking with us, encouraging, serving, and challenging us to hold onto Jesus. Who do you have close that you could encourage to challenge today? Send a message of encouragement to someone close to you, remind them of our Hope in Jesus.
