HOPE - Day 2
Weekly Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the hope that Jesus' birth brings to our lives. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, help us to anchor our hope in Him. May His light shine brightly in our lives, dispelling darkness and uncertainty. In His name, we pray. Amen.
Tuesday Dec 3: Luke 1:26-33 26
“In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”
Reflection: God often uses the most unexpected and unprepared to fulfill his purposes. A teen mother from an unknown town, set apart by God to carry His son. Where do you feel confused, overwhelmed, unprepared? What are some unexpected things that you have been facing? These challenges are opportunities for God to show himself. Reflect on where you see The Lord in the midst of your challenges.
Pray that he would help you to see Him moving in these unexpected places and that He would use our efforts, no matter how small, to fulfill His purposes.
