ELDERS

Redeemer is led by a body of elders who serve as shepherds in the life of our church. Our elders work together to lead, feed, and care for those who call Redeemer home.

Shannon Collins, Lead pastor

Shannon has pastored Redeemer since it’s launch in 2015. He is a graduate of Dallas Seminary and has served on staff at churches of all sizes and styles for the last 18 years. He and his wife Karen were married in 2001 and moved to the DFW area in 2002. Karen is an RN with experience in both hospital and clinical settings and currently works as a school nurse in our community. God has blessed them with two amazing children: Caleb in 2007 and Sarah in 2011. Shannon is an avid football fan, enjoys time spent with family and friends, fishing, running, and trying to keep up with his kids. He can be contacted at shannon@redeemerrc.com.

“My prayer for Redeemer is that God would make us a Christ-centered & community-focused church here in the heart of Rockwall County that would make disciples of Jesus who would love and serve the people around us in the name of Jesus. I long to see God use this church to foster gospel renewal in the lives of people and in this place we call home.”

STANLEY JOHN, elder

ELDER

CHARLES JONES, elder

Charles grew up in Illinois with his three sisters and two brothers. After graduating in 1972 he left home and joined the Navy.  June 29, 1974, he married Judy and together they settled in Norfolk, Virginia to begin their lives. Through the years they were blessed with three children Joy (Robert), Jenny (Tomas), and John (Kaytie), and ten grandchildren.

Judy and Charles served 3 years on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ Military Ministry (The Cru). Believing God was calling him into full-time ministry they came to Dallas where Charles attended college and Dallas Theological Seminary. Following graduation, he pastored churches in Mississippi, Minnesota, and Illinois. He retired from the military after 24 years of service in 1996. Entering full-time retirement in 2019, Charles has more time to learn woodworking and ride his motorcycle. However, for the past 32 years, Charles has umpired youth and high school baseball, but in 2023 he switched to fastpitch softball because the field is smaller.

Spending time searching for a church home after returning to Texas, Charles and Judy believed the Lord was leading them to Redeemer. Since joining both Judy and Charles have developed friendships through their Life Group and have been provided ministry opportunities to serve and utilize their gifts.
