Redeemer Kids exists to create an engaging and safe environment for children birth through 5th grade to hear the gospel in a way that is consistently creative and relevant to them. Our kids ministry is staffed by screened and trained volunteers who recognize the great responsibility and opportunity they have to share the gospel and partner with parents in shaping the lives of the youngest among us.
An axis is a line about which something turns or rotates and each of our lives has one. As preteens move from listening to Bible stories and making crafts to engaging real life issues we at Redeemer want to help them and their parents set a well defined axis in their lives as we draw a line from the Biblical narrative into their lives.
AXIS is intended for preteens in grades 4-6 and meets on Wednesday evenings at Highview Learning Center from 7:00-8:15. A typical evening at AXIS includes games, teaching, videos/music, small groups, and dessert! In addition to Wednesday evening gatherings we will attend preteen camp together this summer and plan occasional fun weekend outings.
If you have questions about AXIS you can contact us here.
Showing up for the first time in a new environment, particularly with your kids, can be a little daunting for anyone. We hope the information below will help you feel more at rest as you navigate your first visit with us. If there are any questions left unanswered feel free to contact us.
When you arrive at Highview you will be greeted by one of our volunteers who will direct you to our designated check in area. Once inside the check in area we will capture some basic information about each child to ensure we are aware of any needs they may have. Information will include their name, birthday, parents’ names, phone number and any allergies or special instructions. Our workers will then print two labels: one to go on your child and the other for you to take with you. When you return after service to pick up just present the label to your child’s teacher and you are ready to go.
After check-in, our volunteers will direct you to the appropriate classrooms for your kids. Once inside the classroom they will be in the care of attentive staff and volunteers who have all been trained and screened through a background check. These adults will lead your kids in games, songs and age-appropriate Bible teachings to give your child the opportunity to learn the truths of Scripture in a way that consistently points them to Jesus. Every week, toddlers through 5th grade will dive into God’s word in a way that is engaging and appropriate for their stage of development. It is our hope that, together with your help, we can introduce your child to the truth of who Jesus is and that they would grow to trust and treasure Him above anything or anyone.
At Redeemer, we understand the importance of corporate worship. To help instill that value into our kids, we have one Sunday a quarter (the 5th Sunday of the month) that our grade school kids will join us in the Worship Center for our regular worship service. Childcare is still provided for our younger kids, but we ask that you bring your grade school child with you into the service to worship as a family.
2019 5th Sunday Worship Dates:
We believe the most influential people in a child’s life are their parents. We know raising a generation of men and women who love God first and serve Him passionately is no easy task. At Redeemer, we are committed to partnering with parents so that you can minister to your children effectively. We pray these parent resources will encourage spiritual conversations in the home and help equip the entire family to begin thinking out and living consistent with the truths of Scripture.
